Akvilė Lesauskaitė is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of fine art, fashion, and sustainability. Originally from Lithuania, she studied Painting at the Vilnius and Milan Art Academies before earning a Master’s in Business & Marketing. Her early career was immersed in publishing and cultural programming in Vilnius, where she co-founded and edited a fashion and urban arts magazine and contributed to a UNESCO-recognized cultural heritage festival.

Her work is shaped by an acute sensitivity to material and form, informed by years spent collaborating with architects, interior designers, and property developers all over the world. Engaging with space, texture, and surface beyond the confines of traditional painting, she developed an interest in the ways objects and materials accumulate meaning over time.

This exploration extends to her use of unconventional media, particularly lipstick. By repurposing old, unused, and expired lipsticks, she interrogates themes of excess, obsolescence, and transformation, positioning discarded materials within a new visual and conceptual framework. Moving fluidly between figuration and abstraction, her work challenges distinctions between permanence and impermanence, consumption and preservation.

Now based in the US, Akvilė continues to experiment with materiality and process, drawing on her background in fashion and design to explore the shifting relationships between aesthetics, identity, and popular culture.
